Artist: Leon Gaspard (Russian-American, 1882-1964) Gaspard is considered today one of the masters of the early Taos School. Tribal peoples and their ceremonies and costumes, including Russian and Native American, were important subjects for him from 1915 until his death. Gaspard added a distinguished style and subject matter to the varied catalogue of the legendary Taos Art Colony.
