Fred R. Kline Copyright ©2019 Children at the mercy of the world I am here to protect you. Where are you hiding? Don’t be afraid.

Children at the mercy of hunger, of fire, of raging waters, of mean and angry cities, Children at the mercy of daily life, of perversity, of war, don’t be afraid.

Children at the mercy of wild beasts, of thieves, of poison snakes, of cars, of mothers and fathers, Children at the mercy of stinging insects, of freezing nights, of fright, I am here to protect you.

Children at the mercy of monsters, disease, knives, Of thunder and lightning, of armies, of bad dreams, Children at the mercy of the gods, of madmen, of silence, of death, I am here to protect you.

Children at the mercy of the world I am here to protect you. Why are you hiding? Don’t be afraid.
